We woke up with the kids jumping on our heads and the weather was not looking good. Drizzle drizzle, at the Bodensee- not what we want!
We headed off optimistically and started off by walking around the lovely town called Meersburg. It is so quaint, cobbled roads and of course an old castle. We had some hot coffee and the weather was improving.
We took a boat to an island called 'Mainau Island'. It is a beautiful little island known for its flowers. Well , you have never seen such beautiful arrangements! All the kids wanted to do was swim. But funny enough one cannot swim on this island. It is not what they call a 'beach'. That is a grass area by a lake where one can swim. We walked around and headed off to Meersburg again to arrive to the early evening Opera and music in the streets. We wanted to stay but the kids were tired so we headed back to Friederickshaven.
