25 September, 2006

Our day started with some local honey cake, by default and it was amazing. We walked the whole day across the famous Charles Bridge, around Josefov (Jewish Town), went to the Jewish museums, the old town square and we went to the Communism Museum. Some of the Synagogues are used as museums and the Pinkas Synagogue was quite hectic. It is a monument to victims of the holocaust and the walls are covered from floor to ceiling with the names of more than 77 thousand Jews who were murdered by the Nazis. We walked through the Jewish cemetery and then walked around the Old Jewish Town. It was a lovely day with great weather and Prague is a beautiful city. The architecture and the buildings are gorgeous but Americans have invaded and there are McDonalds and KFC everywhere. It is a bit disappointing because the glitz and glamour ruin the Czech feel.
