30 Septemeber, 2006

We had one last day in Vienna and after organizing our train tickets to Munich we decided to visit Schonbrunn Palace. We were hesitant to visit it because we were a bit tired of castles and palaces but we were so happy that we went. It was probably one of the best places of History that we had seen and it was very well done. The rooms were gorgeous and the gardens were also kept so beautifully. We ended our day at the Apple Strudel Bakery and had a tasting and demonstration of how to prepare and bake an apfel strudel. I have the recipe if anyone wants it! We spent the rest of the day ‘Viennering around’ as Rich would say (derived from our days in Rome where we “roamed” around). We made our way to the train station and caught the train at 23h45 for Munich. We had a bed each in a six sleeper and only 2 other guys were in our wagon. We were woken up with orange juice and a processed croissant at 6am.
