27 October, 2006
It was another long drive to Mandawa. We stopped here to look at some Haveli’s (heritage homes) once used as mansions for the wealthy and they have paintings decorated on the outside walls with a story to tell that follows from one painting to another. We tried to have lunch at one of the Haveli hotels but for some reason it was either really expensive or there was nothing we felt like eating. After walking around the city we decided to leave and get to Jhunjhunu which was where we would be spending our last night in India. The resort had a wonderful garden and we relaxed the entire afternoon with the flies chatting to 2 girls who were new recruits to ‘The India experience’. They were starting out on their trip and we had a good laugh. We visited a Hindu Temple at sunset and had our last Indian vegetarian meal. We had to get to bed because we were leaving at 4h30 am for Delhi.
