9 November, 2006

We woke up on the train after a fair sleep and we had arrived in Suzhou. We waited in line for a cab and our friend from our cabin called us over since he was ahead in the queue. He told us we could catch a cab with him and once we reached our hotel he said he would get the bill. Really sweet! So we got to Gloria Plaza Hotel, dumped our stuff and headed to ‘The Master- Of-The-Nets Garden. It was very small but really pretty and there was a beautiful pond full of fish and typical houses furnished with antiques. We then walked to the only remaining original city gate called Pan Men. We climbed a pagoda dating back to 3rd century AD and had great views from the top. The gardens around were also very pretty and the whole setting was extremely relaxing. We shopped around in the evening browsing and looking but bought nothing as usual.
