30 December no.1, 2006
We didn’t really sleep on our 4 and a half hour flight and it was too late to drink our plum sodas as well. The flight was pleasant but we were exhausted and we arrived at about 7am in Tokyo. We were allowed into the lounge again for the day- thank goodness -otherwise we would not have made 12 hours sitting around the airport. We went straight to the loungers at the back and had a few hours of sleep. The day in the lounge went by really quickly; in fact we didn’t even have a chance to send the e-mails that we wanted to. We had Udon noodles for lunch and that taste of Japan again was very refreshing. The toilet seats were not only spotlessly clean but warm too and you could actually sit on them properly, and the shower was the best in months. We realized that we really miss Japan already and remember how awesome it actually was. The people are so incredibly polite, friendly and helpful and we will miss Japan a lot!

We arrived in Hawaii really early in the morning after having another sleepless night and even though we had traveled for only 5 hrs we had backtracked in time and had another 30 Dec starting all over again. What fun! We took it slow since we knew we couldn’t board the ship before 11h00. We got the local bus from the airport and sat at the pier having a Starbucks coffee and chatting on skype until we could get on the ship. Our alcohol was confiscated from us so we were really upset about that (the drunkards that we are), but we checked in and put our things down and decided to head out into the town. We got to a lovely shopping mall and I found a swimming costume and Rich bought some trainers. Thank goodness for that because otherwise he would have to wear his boots at night to the dining hall- not a pretty sight. We were so tired that we got back to the ship early and had a nap. We set the alarm for 18h30 so that we would be awake for ‘sail-away’. It was so difficult to get up but we managed somehow and went out to the deck party half asleep. We had early dinner and we were falling asleep in the dining room so we went straight to bed. We hadn’t even looked around the ship yet- not that it is such a big one either.
