We woke up and got ready to leave for the airport. Pubes left work and came to fetch us and he dropped us off for our lunch time flight. All going well so far, we boarded the flight and whilst we were sitting all ready to take off there was an announcement on the intercom. They were looking for dumb asses, oh, I mean a few people to volunteer to take the evening flight at 18h15 because there was a big group of kids who were desperate to get on our flight. So, Rich was all excited, without thinking, he said we’ll do it and he dragged me off the plane. We then realized or should I say he realized that our friends Rich and Suzy Maisel would be fetching us from the airport after midnight. That was not a comfortable thought as you can imagine. We were compensated $200/per person which was a voucher for any Air Canada Flight. That wouldn’t really help us because we are leaving Canada soon and we can’t really make use of the voucher. Rich came to his senses and realized that it wasn’t the brightest decision and flying business class for 3 and a half hours wasn’t worth all the hassle. BUT, it gets better. We are sitting in the business class lounge and we tried for the earlier flight but unfortunately could not make that either. Then there is an announcement that our flight which we are finally going to get on is delayed by another half an hour. Monty was absolutely thrilled and loving it- NOT! With a bit of complaining Rich spoke to a few people and Air Canada put us up in a hotel in Toronto for the night. I guess we will get to Toronto eventually and will only see Suzy and Rich tomorrow.
