2 March, 07

We tried to book a flight this morning but none of the times worked out and we would not be able to make our connection to Atlanta. Oh, we have decided to go to Costa Rica via Atlanta (very direct route – not) and do a side trip before getting to our final country, Brazil. We actually decided then and there at the agency that we would leave today and we had to go the very long route back to Caracas, something I was dreading. We sat at the pool most of the day and enjoyed the last bit of Isla Margarita. They were really nice at the hotel and allowed us to check out late. We were now excited about leaving and felt that we had had enough of Venezuela and the island. We went to the desk to confirm our ferry times, since they change all the time in Venezuela and we should never have done that. We knew the ferry was at 21h00 and we let them convince us that it was at 18h00. We had to quickly pack and leave and we flew out the hotel because that was a big surprise to us. We got a taxi to the main ferry terminal and low and behold we had to wait two and a half hours. The ferry was only at 21h00 like we thought. We were so mad!!!! Anyway, we did the fast ferry to Puerta la Cruz and from there we got a taxi to the bus terminal in Puerta La Cruz. Then we got on a bus at 12h30 in the morning and it was a 5 hr overnighter to Caracas.
