24 February, 2007
It was another glorious day and we sat at the beautiful pool in the morning. We had woken up fairly early since they omitted to tell us that there would be building starting at 8am that would wake us up. We left at lunch time for the most Northern part of the island famous for its sunsets, namely Juan Griego - a little town on Isla Margarita. We arrived and had some lunch on the beach and it was boiling hot. I went looking for a hotel and found a French-owned posada-looking hotel. It was really neat and clean with a pool and just perfect. We had a swim to cool down and headed back to the beach but the water was not very clean since there were many fishing boats and it wasn’t really a swimming beach. We got back to the hotel and chilled in the hammocks in the breeze until it was time for sunset. We watched the ball of fire setting into the sea with the mountains in the distance and it was really pretty. The town had a lovely vibe and the temperature was perfect. There is a tiny promenade but the shops line the beach road and there is a pier to sit on whilst having a drink or two. The restaurants come to life and obviously the seafood is the order of the night.
