13 April, 07

What a horrible pousada. Nobody greeted us at breakfast and we hated the atmosphere. After the two amazing pousadas in Morro and Chiapada to this place! Well, we had a decent breakfast and went looking for a different place to stay. We looked around all 5 sand roads of the town and found Hotel Mosquito Blue. The reception was excellent and friendly and the grounds were very pretty. It was also right on the beach and obviously a little bit pricier. We moved our luggage and settled on the beach for the rest of the morning. We met Lee from Australia and Flavia from Argentina (just married) and as the sun was setting we all took a walk up the sand dunes for some great views. The beach goes on for miles and there are loads of sand dunes one after the other. We got back to the hotel and lay in the room watching the news- something that we hadn’t done for soooo long. It felt so strange. As we reminisced about our long holiday we were comparing different holiday destinations and we both agreed that Jericoacoara is not the ideal honeymoon destination even though it has so much to offer and it can be very romantic. Rich said “there is high potential for a fight”, since with all the hassle of transportation and the amount of time it takes to get here, it is not very stress-free. Anyway, we had a lovely dinner on the beach and fed a kitty all our scraps. It is very quiet here and the beaches are deserted during the day. Perhaps a bit too quiet for us.
