Another relaxing day in Morro de Sao Paolo and a great breakfast – every morning it is a little different, with a few surprises. We decided to go to a quiet beach away from all the tourists and we landed up walking to a village called Gamboa. It is a small fishing village with warm water for swimming and it is extremely quiet. We spent a couple of hours there and headed back before the tide came in. If one stays there too long one has to return by boat but we had no money on us and so we had to walk back quickly (a little bit in the water). On our way back we had a pit stop at the pink rock – a special place to paint oneself with mud. I guess it is good for the skin and has special minerals and stuff- we are not sure though!
Anyhow, we painted ourselves with the mud- looked like aliens- and continued with our walk. We rinsed off in the sea at the end of our walk and our skin felt so soft and silky. It was really fun and we will do it again. I think it also exfoliates the skin if you don’t mix it with the water. Rich smothered it on me first before we saw others doing it and then we figured out how to do it properly. We then had another dip in our pool back at the pousada and we went to the lighthouse for sunset. There was an awesome view of the beaches but the sun sets on the other side and so we had the moon to admire instead. We had a local meal for dinner- this however does not agree with Mr Bendel’s stomach and so it will be the last one for a while or forever!
