7 April, 2007

A very sad day for us because we are leaving Morro de Sao Paulo this afternoon and we don’t really want to. It has been a whole week so we cannot really complain. We woke up late after our hectic evening out and we had our last wonderful breakfast. I want to thank Marga for the amazing gift that you gave us – it is very special and we will have fond memories of our stay with you.
We spent the day at the pool chatting with a few other guests and before we knew it, it was time to leave for the ferry. We walked down the steep hill for the last time and we got on the catamaran. The wind was quite strong and so the ocean was not as smooth and calm as our previous journey. We both felt a bit queasy and we had to stand outside in the fresh air watching the horizon all the time. The sun set as we were sailing and as it got dark we could see Salvador’s city lights in front of us. It was very pretty sailing under the stars and moon light. Luckily neither of us got sick and we reached Salvador at about 7pm. We had to catch a bus from the ferry terminal to the main bus station for our next overnight bus (6hrs) to Lencois. We had a few hours to kill and so we walked across the road to a big shopping mall and browsed around for a while. We managed to find a wireless connection as well so that helped the time to pass by fairly quickly. I felt so dirty and salty from the ferry and my hair was all tangled and knotty but there was nowhere to wash and so we had to get on the bus all sticky- yuk! Only 6 hrs to go…
